For centuries, the Museum has been a symbol of colonialism, exploiting the artifacts and cultural heritage of other nations for influence and profit from the Benin Bronzes to the Rapa Nui Moai.
Repeated demands and requests have been made for the return of many stolen treasures, to which the British Museum’s implicit response has always been “get fucked.”
So we have taken it upon ourselves to turn their words into action, creating a range of extremely detailed sex toys based on the 3D files that the British Museum has made available in lieu of actually returning anything.
Our aim with this collection is to raise awareness and resurface the conversation around the Museum’s international kleptomania and cultural pimping. These treasures do not belong to us.
